Numerex Unveils Portal


Ease of use can play an important role in the success of a product or service. A new device management system from Numerex Corp., Home - Numerex - the M2M 'Partner of Choice' for continued and safe connectivity., Atlanta, Ga., aims to help customers more easily deploy and manage devices on a network. NumereXpress, Numerex’s new portal, is designed for use with the company’s SMSXpress and GPRSXpress services.

According to Numerex, the portal should make it simpler for users to manage devices on the Numerex network. NumereXpress is Web-based portal and provides customers with access to capabilities such as device activation, deactivation, and billing plan modification. Customers can also use the portal to access Numerex’s customer support and M2M (machine-to-machine) services.

SMSXpress and GPRSXpress are both proprietary Numerex technologies. SMSXpress allows messages to be routed straight to Numerex Networx SMSXpress Gateway in the company’s data center, instead of routing them through a network service center. Numerex’s GPRSXpress is a system for transmitting GSM (global system for mobile communications) data, and Numerex says it is designed for users who need infrequent data communications for an exception reporting application.
