I've been doing an extensive amount of research around different M2M carriers. This has mainly been centered around KORE, RACO, and Jasper. I recently stumbled across
Jasper's automated provisioning and was hoping someone could shed some light on my foggy understanding.
As a whole, I understand the benefit of the automated provisioning process, but am unclear on a technical level. From the link mentioned above it says you don't start getting billed until:
"The first billing period starts when the device is received by the end customers and the first PDP context is established."
and all testing up until that point is free. My question is that during testing a PDP context will need to be established just to verify the connection and that data is getting across the network. So how does the Jasper network know whether or not I'm in test mode or that the device is actually on the customer's site? I hope that makes sense and maybe I'm overlooking something completely obvious. Would love to learn more about it!
