Question Enabler-II G Modem problem

Dear Forum Members,

I am experiencing serious communication problems in Enfora Enabler II-G Modem. I am using the modem for incoming and outgoing SMS communication.

The modem tends to hang when receiving and sending SMS messages at the same time. The modem seems also to dislike concatenated UNICODE messages. The delays in receiving messages are very long.

At the beginning I thought the communication problem was caused by smsapi (the software between my user application and the modem). I changed twice smsapi. Now I use 2 different smsapi from diffrent vendors but the problems are the same.

The modem has a firmware 0.6.1. Would upgrading firmware help? What is the most recent released version of the firmware? How to upgrade the firmware?

Best regards
Adam

Looks like a firmware upgrade may indeed fix your problem. I checked the release notes for 0.7.6 and see the following entry:

- Fixed issue with sending SMS when incoming and outgoing SMS collide

I believe 0.7.8 is the latest firmware.

Thank you very much for your reply. I will ask my Enfora reseller to send me the upgrade or to perform the upgrade for me.

Best regards
Adam
