Default MT-GL firmware nowhere to be found?

Hi everyone,

I want to flash my device with the latest release so it would support DNS and other GPS issues will be fixed but MT-GL firmware nowhere to be found?

Of course Enfore support is useless with their typical non-west-coast company attidude of sending you to the reseller.

Anyone has the file and flash utilty and willing to share with us?

Thanks
B

The firmware upgrades are available on the Enfora site after you login. I'm not sure how hard it is to get a login. I got one from my Enfora rep since I have purchased directly from them.

If you send a message directly to me, I can email you the firmware, it is too big to attach here.

Thank you so much! That will fix the DNS issue and also, I have noticed another strange item:

The modem will reboot if an SMS is sent to it that contains > character. I am guessing this is some kind of bug of the AT-via-SMS feature as the sytax begins with >xxxxxx< but either way the modem should NOT be rebooting.

In fact I have found an interesting bug - the modem reboots BEFORE it acks the network which means this produces perpetual reboot - as soon as it comes back ON the network pushes that same SMS again (since it never got ack) and that casues the modem to reboot again without sending ack. This behavious repeats over and over until I pull the SIM and put it into another device (which doesnt reboot on >) so the SMS can be received and ack'd and only then can I put the SIM back into the Enfora box and continue using it

Strange...

8/6/08 - answered my own question. This must have been a firmware bug. once upgraded to the latest firmware the SMS interface for sending AT commands to/from the modem works just as expected. no more firmware crashes and modem reboots. glad this was easy to solve
