Default MT-uL configure APN

Can someone straighten me out on configuring an APN on the MT-uL?
Here's what I get (APN value x'd out):

ATI
Enfora, Inc.

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxx.xxx"
ERROR

You are probably getting an error because the unit is currently trying to register. Try doing:

AT$AREG=1

before setting the APN and then

AT$AREG=2

to go back to auto registration, and don't forget to do

AT&W

To save you changes.

John any news on this one? Was it that the modem was trying to register and it would NOT accept commands in that state?

Another way to ensure the APN can be programmed is:

AT+CFUN=0

This will turn the radio off while programming the device and also prevents getting errors programming the APN.

After you are finished scripting send:

AT&W
AT$RESET

Or you can just program the unit without the sim inserted. Once the unit registers and you get cell lock, you can't program the apn.

Marty,

If you start your scripts with:

AT+CFUN=0
AT$AREG=0

and end your scripts with:

AT&W
AT$RESET

Then it will not matter if there is a SIM card or not in the device. You will be able to re-program the APN.

Thanks,
Steve

Default MT-uL configure APN

You can't configure the APN when it's in an active PDP context. You have to de-register the device to make the change and then reset the device. This should help.... AT$AREG=0 AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","apn" AT$AREG=2 AT&W AT$RESET
